The Color Purple
Saturday I went to see the Color Purple the musical
. It was sooooo good! It is so emotional and the music is so beautiful, I think I cried about every five minutes. Now all I want to do is go out and get the soundtrack. I have never seen the movie or read the book, but I do know that the musical was phenominal!! It was also really cool because the woman who originated the role of Sophie on broadway(and who was nominated for a Tony) was in the cast I saw. It was a really awesome play and I say that if you have the chance to see it...DO IT!

Lord Loss

This weekend I finished reading the book Lord Loss by Darren Shan, the first book of the Demonata series. It was actually very entertaining. It's a little bit gory and graphic, but not so much where it's like "ugh!" It's just enough to be a little grossed out but not lose interest! Who knows, maybe I'll end up reading the whole series sometime!
My New Hat

So I don't know why I have this somewhat obsession with knitted hats, but I do! A few days ago I finished knitting my first hat of the season. This probably isn't the best picture to show it, but there you go. I thought it was going to end up all messed up, but I think it turned out pretty darn good...and I got a few compliments on it so job well done me!

Fight Club

So the other day I finished reading Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. It was sooooo good! You would think having already seen the movie the book would be ruined for me, but it really wasn't. I don't want to ruin it for anybody who hasn't read or seen Fight Club so I won't say anything specific! Even though I knew the little secret or twist to the story it was still very fun to read. I knew what was going to happen, but the build-up was still worth it! I also love the way it was written. It was sort of stream of consciousness so it was more interesting to read and I liked how the author repeated certain phrases a few times, it kind of gives you a clue to the twist! Now I really want to see the movie again! I've only seen it once and it was a couple years ago, but from what I remember the movie is pretty darn true to the book. So I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a fast read, but it's very very good!
